Bar Games
Enter any bar in Thailand and you will in all
probability be invited to participate in a selection of games that
are not seen anywhere else in the world. Thai bar girls love to
entice tourists to stop for a drink and to play a few quick and
relatively easy games with them. Relativity only extends to your
ability to grasp the rules in the shortest time frame possible. The
girls are true masters of any game here.
In order to break barriers between western men and Thai women, most
beer bars in Thailand have a number of games which serve a duel
purpose - One is to unite different cultures and another (more
importantly) is for the Thai women to try and gain free drinks and
the chance of more things to cum - if you get my drift.
Playing games in a bar is a great form of entertainment while beers
or whatever other drink you fancy, keep flowing. You will no doubt,
at various intervals, be invited to buy a drink or drinks for the
lady you befriend. This could develop from your kind generosity or
perhaps a gesture to a lack of skill on your part. However you need
to be attentive as this could lead to buying drinks for the whole
bar.

What is a Beer Bar?
A beer bar is a place where tourists, expats
or Thai men can go to drink, meet Thai ladies and generally have
fun. Some offer other entertainment such as bands or Thai
Boxing.
They range from open air Box Bars (usually many of them together under one roof) to single bars more like you would find at home (the girls in these are often only lightly clad).
A lot of bars feature Pole Dancing girls and are often classed as GoGo Bars rather than Beer Bars, but what goes on in them is pretty standard.
Bar Fines
Bar Fines are just the fee paid to the Bar whenever you take a girl away to enjoy her exclusive company. These are usually a "set" price, but in some instances can be negotiated. As an example, at time of writing (January 2014) the usual rate for taking a girl "short time" (about 1 hour) is around 400 baht (around US$12). This money does not go to the girl but is meant to compensate the bar for her not being available to lure new customers or entertain the current ones.
The price is usually higher if you want to take the girl "long time" or overnight. Ask at the bar before you decide to ask a girl out to make sure you know all the costs.
Bar Girls
Many Bar Girls find their way to the bars (and prostitution) from the rural north and north east of Thailand. Many come to make money to support their families. Some are married and some have thai boyfriends. Many who have been working in the bars for a long time are quite jaded, but there is a never ending supply of fresh recruits so that you can find someone soft and nice. You may need to shop around a bit, but you will always find someone to your tastes.

After the Bar
Taking a girl out of the bar is very common and is usually negotiated directly with the girl. In Thailand there are many very pretty girls working in the bar trade and you are sure to find some that tick all your boxes. Remember that these girls all have a story and you should treat them with respect. That being said, you are entering a contract with them and you should make your terms very clear before sealing the deal to avoid disappointment and any potential problems.

How much does it cost?
The truth is, it varies from bar to bar. You may be able to negotiate a really low rate, but your experience may suffer because of this. Use the rates below as a rough guide and the currency converter to work out how much it would be in your own currency.
